No One Cares A.K.A. The "Suggestions and Changes" Megathread!

Aggregated list of changes and rationale with additional comments, some of these are from other comments in this thread, friends, other forums, I'll do my best to credit whoever I think to be the originator when I know but I'm only human and might make mistakes.

Also if you remember something from the game/devs that might make one of these invalid etc, please comment on it here and I'll try to update this comment to remove the suggestion, or if this should be somewhere else, let me know and I'll try to put it in a better location.

Balance:

  1. Roll/Dodge to have some sort of cooldown:

    This is currently pretty broken and allows you to avoid a lot of the mechanics of PvE as well as just downright annoying dodge rolling shotguns in PvP, I say this as I was the dodge rolling shotgunner just destroying people without them being able to do much to me at all, and felt it was a bit op.

  2. Stamina for Spring/Speed of sprinting:

    Kinda along the same lines as the Roll/Dodge change, but it just seemed silly that we could all run indefinitely with no way to change your run speed, at least that I was aware of. If there is already a way to make yourself faster to be more of a hit and run, or to run down others then I'd retract this, but I am not currently aware of any such system yet.

Gameplay:

  1. From /u/Marduk283: Rogue players had red names, red health bars, and a little red skull. Critically injured non rogue players had red names, red health bars.

    As others have pointed out, this was a flag to indicate that these are in combat and I am kind of the mind that you might need to take a second more to look but a possible change could be to either incorporate additional colors, or patterns like this on bars: http://www.clker.com/cliparts/0/5/d/3/11971247301907247236Sabathius_Warning_Stripe_Black_Yellow.svg

  2. From /u/Chokinghazard5014: When you shoulder swap instead of going back over the right shoulder when you aim it remembers which shoulder you where looking over.

  3. From /u/El_MUERkO: Smoke Grenade to provide cover in PvP and stop the dominance of Marksman Rifles.

  4. From /u/DawnBlue: The current system for throwing grenades has several flaws and could use rework due to the way that it operates often times we have to look to far up to get the grenade to land where we intend and suggests a system similar to the sticky grenade instead where we look where we want to throw it.

    I this this is true, but only that the values for how far you have to look up to get to the maximum throwing distance needs to be changed, as grenades have a directed arc so you can throw them behind things. I might be misunderstanding this suggestion though.

  5. From /u/Kush_the_Ninja: Loot picked up in the Dark Zone should be able to be dropped back into the world.

    As expanded on by /u/Ata5ll this would change a lot of the social behaviors we've seen already in the game and might not be the best change to make.

    Also expanded on by /u/PUSClFER that this would also add in the ability to put loot out as a "trap" to lure other players.

  6. From /u/extion: Have lights stay out longer when you shoot them.

    While I feel this is more a cosmetic change, this could make it easier to setup ambushed and such against other players, and sounds good.

Cosmetic/Ease of Life:

  1. From /u/Python9066:When comparing weapons a toggle button to remove mod effects so I can compare them off base stats without having to the strip the mods.

    Other users have suggested being able to compare with the mods on each, but given that guns can have different mod slots I think this might be a lot more annoying to implement and not have as much value as just comparing the base items.

    Expanding on this, it would also be nice to be able to compare any weapons/armor pieces etc instead of just what we have equipped, was somewhat annoying when I wanted to see which of the two X items of the same type were better and had to equip one just for the sake of comparing them.

  2. From /u/walkssoftly: The navigation/compass needs to stand out better.

    Agree with this completely and wanted to add that it would be nice to be able to lock the minimap direction as well. Maybe I just missed a setting.

  3. From /u/HypedRobot772: A drop down cosmetic item menu.

  4. From /u/HypedRobot772: A way to inspect people and check out their gear /stats would be cool.

    I like this, but I'm wary of having it always be available, just sounds like an easier way to judge whether rogues should jump a group or not without having to do much observation.

  5. From /u/Tarquin11: Being able to rotate your character in the menus for seeing how gear looks from different angles.

  6. A Preview of the cosmetic items so we don't always have to equip them.

  7. From /u/Altr4: We should be able to hear phone recording while doing something else.

  8. From /u/z0nghits: Alternative icons for death location

  9. From /u/z0nghits: Shortcuts to set/clear/toggle waypoints.

  10. From /u/onashu: Mark as junk on pickup.

    Expanded on by /u/doubleurx a "Loot as Junk" option for both single and all items in a drop would be useful.

  11. From /u/TheSkullmasher: A way to change your character's appearance after character creation.

Trying to update this as best I can, just kinda wanted a general starting comment to see all the suggestions before I made new ones, I would have preferred to have this as a post instead, but didn't want it deleted as this post exists.
