Not directly NFA related but I'm not understanding something here, peep comments for full question

linking here because i was temporarily banned from r/guns for "politics"

Unfortunatelynnecticut, and this update to the assault weapons ban was passed October of this year.

Before this ban was even passed, it was a common misconception that the Kriss vector was not Connecticut compliant, but small numbers of civilians were legally acquiring them from reputable dealers.

Even kriss's website said they didn't have a CT compliant model, but every dealer with a complete set of testicles assured me the phrasing of the ban didn't catch the vector, and the vector isn't mentioned by name.

However, now this has passed and a dealer i previously spoke to is no longer willing to sell me a vector, because they believe that it is no longer compliant, even though the one point of contention didn't change.

The phrasing in question is "Any semi-automatic centerfire rifle, regardless of the date produced, that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and... ...Any grip of the weapon, including a pistol grip, thumbhole stock, or other stock that would allow an individual to grip the weapon, resulting in any finger on the trigger hand in addition to the trigger finger being directly below any portion of the action of the weapon when firing"

The vector (in its long barrel, semi automatic, fixed stock variant) should not be affected by this ban because neither the grip nor the trigger are below the action. They are behind and above it.

Am i going blind? Is the vector on the list and I missed it on my double and triple check? Does the definition of "the action" include any moving parts at all? I was under the impression that "the action" only included the bolt and any other part that directly "handles" a round of ammunition.

If i were to try to acquire a vector and I was told to give it back, what would happen if i were to point out the fact that the vector is not banned despite looking scary? Would the ATF immediately show up and shoot my cat?
