Are ATF caseworkers people too?

My last stamp was approved 9/14/2020. I called that day to be told by the lady on the phone "oh yay, it just got approved today". Brightened my day a little cause I was expecting the usual "pending since ..." type response and the person on the phone at least acted excited.

That said, a member of my extended family was an ATF agent who blew the whistle on a couple other agents who were working to sell seized guns for personal profit. After their conviction he wasn't outright fired but according to him everyone treated him like a narc at that point and he never got another promotion or any worthwhile assignments and he eventually left the ATF for good. Maybe it's unfair of me but it always has kinda tainted my opinion of them.
