OK Reddit - What just isn't worth the effort?

I am very often that guy. I have ADHD (first diagnosed as an already middle aged adult) and it has ruined my personal and professional life. Many people try to offer me advice and encouragement but their advice mostly is something I thought and tried repeatedly years ago. Of course I don't take it and I get sometimes annoyed that people insist that what is simple for them must be simple or at least possible for me. If people look like they don't want help there is probably some problem that prevents the solutions you offer and and they don't want to explain it and then go through all the counterarguments to all the cliches or they simply don't want to be open about it.
