Ok Reddit, time to brag. What is the best/most good-hearted thing you have done lately?

It was very rare to see a homeless person in my city of 25k, but 2weeks ago I saw a man with rugged clothes and ratted down bag at a gas station. He had no sign asking for money, but it was clear he was in need. I sparked a conversation with him about how he had ended up in his situation. He had his own construction company, a wife and 2 kids, and a drinking problem. His wife divorced him and took custody of the children, and he began to spiral down. He lost the house, the family, and the company. With 5000 dollars left in his name, he decided to see how far from his troubles he could flee. He said he had been sober for exactly 3 months when we met that day, but that he had also reached the bottom of his escape fund. My town was the last stop. He said after three months away, all he wanted to do was get a train to Philadelphia where his parents lived to show them who he had become and to start working toward reclaiming his fatherhood duties. So, I gave him 100 dollars that day and said happy holidays. Although not enough for the ticket, it would get him food, and a motel for a couple days. Now, even though I believed he was being honest, my past experiences with homeless taught me that they will lie for money, so, I followed him from a distance to see what he did with the money. He went into a grocery/liquor store through the liquor store entrance. My gut wrenched. After 20 minutes, he came out with 2 grocery bags full of food! I again went up to him and told him I had followed. He laughed and said " I bet it scared ya when I walked into the liquor store huh". I gave him another 200 dollars for his train ticket and he teared up as he thanked me. Then he reached down into his bag and grabbed something. He extended his hand and said "Here man, you want one of these Oreo cakesters? I think they are new." To which I said absolutely not, for they are a disgrace to oreos.
