Why the OnePlus One's touch issues occur and OnePlus's awful response (X-Post from /r/OnePlus)

So I have been reading about these touchscreen issues on the OnePlus One and that does make me a bit sad. It sucks I put my hard earned money into a product which doesn't work the way it is supposed to. Got my OPO last Tuesday and there has never been a moment when the thought of my device having an issue crosses my mind. If at all I end up with a faulted touchscreen, this wont be the first time I'd be facing the issue.

I had purchased the HTC Sensation, the first dual core flagship smartphone launched to compete with Samsung's Galaxy S2. Barely a week later, the touchscreen used to register ghost touches and it was really frustrating. I got the device replaced and while all seemed good, the issues cropped up again on the replaced device. I ended up no giving the device to the service center because I could live with the issue as I wasn't that much dependant on the phone back in 2011 for my college work.

In the meantime, I had read about the grounding issue on XDA and came across a mod which involved [ http://imgur.com/uC9TIAD ]( putting an aluminium foil between the grounding pin and the back cover ).

This did help a bit because the phone had a removable back and the grounding pin was visible. I can't do this mod on the OPO as the process is very lengthy and I don't want to start doing one thing and end up doing something else.

Coming back to the Sensation, the touchscreen again started registering ghost touches and I got it replaced after almost a year after receiving it as a replacement device. Things worked well for a while and I moved up from Gingerbread to Kitkat. A good two years of use later, the screen developed three [ http://imgur.com/aFffIJT ](deadzones as seen over here).

While using the Sensation, I did have a feeling that phone makers will get rid of this problem completely but it is sad that the issue persists. I just hope that the OPO I am using remains unaffected or else I will end up going back to the time when we used to use feature phones and browsing reddit on our laptops. :P
