Oops! Trump Cites Video Debunking 9/11 Story As Proof He Was Right

I mean, this is a really weak argument that reflects a poor attempt at trying to understand why he actually does have the support he has. The thing is this... Trump exaggerated the reports of "thousands," but were there actually Muslims in New Jersey and in various places around the country that cheered? Yes.

This is where the media got it wrong and why they are getting hit back pretty hard right now and people are accepting all these stories of small groups. Rather than come out and say "Your thousands of people comment was an exaggeration," they all went out and said, "Zero evidence of any Muslims at all celebrating the attacks in the US... and then all the evidence is being linked otherwise, or others are corroborating, or the callers in to Howard Stern's show on 9/12/2001 are people from Jersey complaining about the Muslims cheering in their town and so on...

Again, did Trump technically lie about the "thousands?" Sure... but it's not that people don't care whether he is right, they believe his sentiment is right, that there were actually Muslims cheering in the US over the attacks, and that did actually happen. Maybe it was just small pockets of dozens of people, maybe only hundreds total, but it did happen.

So, the media should've focused on Trump's exaggeration rather than not, but imo, they made the mistake and are now playing into the narrative that once again, the media is lying and can't be trusted and that they have a target on Trump's back and are willing to say or do anything to take him down, regardless of the truth.

Now, you don't have to believe them or agree with this, but trying to dismiss millions of people with an intellectually dishonest and simplistic notion that they don't really care about the truth, of right or wrong, is kind of a shallow argument.
