Because there isn't any oppression of men for being men in society? Nor is bastard even an attack on men, it's meant for people born out of wedlock (clearly, not a group that is in modern times uniquely oppressed like national and gender-oppressed people are).

No, what I'm asking is that you don't repeat sexist or racist or whatever slurs. If you want to abstract from oppression go ahead, but that's not exactly good socialist analysis of language and why those words got those meanings.

Oppressed groups reappropriation oppressive language is a little different from you telling me to ignore oppressive language all-together. As my flair might indicate, I am a big believer in re-appropriation of oppressive vocabulary, but that only works in certain contexts.

So instead of trying to force people not to use language like that, which is honestly futile because of the right-wing governments in power all across the world why not take an insult, flip it round and own it, you don't beat people by playing them at their game.
