Origen vs. Misfits / EU LCS 2017 Spring - Week 6 / Post-Match Discussion

"ayyyy Origen didn't look that bad"

maybe, but man EU LCS really is shit this season (and last season, too, for what it's worth).

You have

  • G2 that are good, but play risk-averse
  • MSF that are overall good
  • H2K & Unicorns that love to derp around, but are enjoyable to watch and a force when they play right.
  • Splyce that are ok

And every other team is just absolute shit. The best you can read in a post-game thread about the others is "looked better today". But none of them have really improved their play in comparison to the rest.

As someone who used to watch A LOT of EU LCS I am so disappointed. NA is clearly more fun to watch right now and the roles have kind of reversed.

It used to be 3 good teams (CLG, TSM, C9) and the rest just being a total shitshow with almost no chance to get the title (except the occasional LMQ or TIP), where it would be absolutely unpleasant to watch DIG vs Complexity or stuff like that.

Meanwhile in EU we had Alliance, which lost everything at the beginning then rose up, or Millenium or suddenly Supa Hot Crew showing up in the top ranks. The Polish Roccat guys creating new metas every other week. Gambit always up for a crazy performance.

The bottom teams in EU are just some lethargic dying mammoths. Origen, Roccat, Giants, Vitality, even Fnatic lately. You expect nothing and are still left disappointed.

You look at the bottom of NA and I think watching Liquid with crazy roster changes, Dignitas with Ssumday and Echo fox with Akaadian/Looper/Froggen are still up for potentially entertaining games and even wins against top teams. Even Envy - they don't look to just roll over with Seraph and Lira forcing plays.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just a bit sad about the state of European League right now.
