People of color make up 95% of Texas’ population growth, and cities and suburbs are booming, 2020 census shows

I don’t doubt that there’s some demographic shift happening.

The city/metro is still about ~24%-28% Black. If you’re using data that shows something significantly different, sharing it might be helpful.

Demographics are shifting, although the biggest chunk of population growth is among Hispanic/Latino residents.

Kaufman County led the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area with a 40% population increase, followed by Rockwall with a 38% gain. Both counties have a white population that exceeds 60% of the total.

As expected, Dallas and Tarrant counties saw some of the slowest rates of growth in the metropolitan region, with 10% and 17% increases respectively, according to the census numbers.

Also, as professionals age and establish families, they continue moving out of cities and into the surrounding areas/suburbs.
