The job pays alright, average 45-60k a year (If you worked full 80hours , plus all stat days, and never used sick time, it would cap you around 60). 14 sicks days yearly, my cabs are paid for by the casino, they offer food service at a extremely discount price and gets taken off my paycheck so I don't have to worry about funds. They also pay for my bus pass to get to work. I get breaks every hour, or sometimes every 40 minutes, and I just feel as though I'm surrounded by smart, intellectual people. Now that sounds all great, but the job does have its serious downsides. It's heavily exhausting. Taking money from people and trying to make them feel good is not always a easy task, some days I'll have massive action on roulette and my head better be in the game for that type of math (35 X 18 + 17 X 24 + 8 X 16 = ?) within seconds. (Hence the hourly breaks) You have to have a strong back to stand a lot (or sit down), and a tough skin. People are going to call you names, bully you, and try to get in your head, and you need to learn how to brush it off. Leave your problems at home and start a new day. I've worked at a few casinos, and currently don't have plans on changing my career anytime soon. I've also been a supervisor and a surveillance operator for a short time. Theres many many more benefits, great health/dental , 3000$ computer loan with 0% interest, 500$ cash loan 0% interest, they really help people out, my biggest gripe is people who get the job give away all their shifts and don't want to work. Oh and training is paid for, they teach you everything. Do I love my job, Absolutely, would I change my Job? Absolutely. There are casinos all over, I can always go to the next one.
