Was attacked by a knife-wielding family member. Successfully protected myself with limited martial arts training, (defensive only, no harm done.) Other family member started in from behind, beating me in the head with a stick, out of concern for the knife guy. Same measured response. Cops show up. I am big, and they have their issues. My 'family' has their self-exculpating story straight. I go to jail. Sr. officer follows up the next day. Realizes everything is fucked. I get signed out of jail at 8:30 on a Saturday night by a judge in a tux with a hottie on his arm, and the whole thing just goes away.

My family didn't have my back, but thank God the cops and courts had each others backs.
