People who don't work normal 35-40 hrs/week jobs and don't have to go to the workplace to work (like freelance and home-based workers) but are making more than enough money, what do you do, how did you get there, what's your daily routine like and how satisfied are you?

I work a few different jobs that arent really normal.

  1. I work as a private contractual security guard doing 3 12 hour days a week. But i make a little more then what a 40 hour guard would be making. My contracts also pay 12 to 14 minimum where as most guards in this field are pulling 40 to 50 hours making 7.25 to 10.

  2. I do odd jobs on the side frequently enough that I run an "under the table" business working for myself and some clients. I mostly do agricultural work. Ive been working for the same main client now for over a year and they pay me the equivalent of 15 an hour. I set my base price per hour at 12, but i find that most clients the more work i do for them the more they pay me and i dont ever have to negotiate for raises.

Its pretty steady side income. A good month i can bring home 500 to 1000 on the side. A bad month as little as 150. Sometimes clients just dont have the work. Since its a side job i can choose when and where i want to work and for how long.

  1. My 3rd job is freelance translation and graphic design.

Between all the jobs/gigs i really only have to go to the workplace 3 days a week and its hardly a "workplace" kind of environment. Between the 3 jobs/gigs i bring home enough to live comfortably and then some. Bills are still tight at times but for the most part my job life is pretty relaxed.
