Didn't care about grades in highschool. Flunked most classes and ended up going to summer school a few times. On the last day of school in senior year, my teacher said that she would have to fail me because I just did not put in the effort. That means I couldn't walk with the rest of my class. I had even done an extra credit poster to try and save my grade at the last minute. I walked home after the last day of school with my head down, realizing that all my dumb shit has finally caught up to me. She called me at my house a few hours later and told me that she had a change of heart and that she was going to pass me. She said even though I screwed up, she believed that I had a good heart and I would do good things one day. She made me promise that I would help others in the future. I joined the military after graduation and it changed my life for the better. I wish I could find her, but she no longer works at my old highschool. Thank you Mrs Taylor!
