As far as "scolding", it's mostly when we verbally try to correct her. For example, today I was across the room and saw the puppy biting on one of our end tables by the couch. I said "maya......" not loud or aggressive or anything but basically to let her know I saw what she was doing. She looked up at me and stopped for a second, then went back to chewing on the table. So I got up and said "maya...." again while I walked towards her. Once the older dog saw me approving her, she proceeded to sit in front of her and protect her. When I see the puppy chewing I usually bring her a toy to divert to attention to chewing a toy instead.
Thank you for the feeding advice. I'm going to definitely do that. I realize what a mistake that is now. I have a lot of experience with dogs but not too much puppy experience so we're still trying to get everything down pat.
I'm sure I did jump the gun and I realize that
