Please help 23yo female struggling to gain, and people around me think i am being silly for wanting to.

yeh, i use to do quite a bit of sports but only started hitting the gym recently. Me and my bf were kind of in the same boat in the sense that we've got small frames and struggle to put on weight. but he s not losing weight. i am. and the strong lifts small sets was how we started as well. It was great for a while. until i noticed i was still getting smaller.

I think it is my diet that is the problem. but i don't think it is the quantity but rather the things i like to eat. I love my proteins. I eat quite a lot of it. Steaks, fish, seafood. i have red meat at least 3 times a week and fish almost everyday. issue is its mostly lean. I have 2-3 eggs for breakfast most days and sometimes with bacon or avo and crackers. My problem is i don't like the taste of fatty food. good or bad fats. like say pork belly. or even fries. lol. i know it is fucked up. And i can't have fresh milk, i get sick. i can't have too much yogurt (only probiotics), or even too much cheese. So only soy for me. Maybe my diet is too low in fat?

also quick question. can i drink my calories as well? if so what should i drink. milkshakes made with milk clearly not an option. Maybe that is a better option? drink the calories? coz i can't eat bigger portions than i do now. even when i start working out again the appetite always stay quite stable. my PT made me do a food diary for 2 weeks and my intake varies from 1800-2300. which is not massively low but not great either.

thank you for ur comment. I think i will try to start working out again. no cardios for sure though. and i guess no interval trainings for now =( i am just a bit concerned coz right before i quit, and the reason i did quite 2 months ago was the fact that my body fat percentage dropped down to so slow it main the gains visible rapidly? could that be why? it is great to see result. I must admit i felt so proud at the beginning. And what u told me had been what i was doing =P but i don't want to gain too much muscle if u know what i mean. without getting some fat on me first.

I don't know how to explain this. You know when you see a woman, and you know she works out coz you could see the strength in the muscle, how toned it is but still shapely at the same time with curves. But then there is those yoga moms that do hot yoga go on crazy diet and basicly become meat over bones and u can see the muscles kind of "popping" out. on guys it s hot to a certain extent. i don't really like that look on me. and right now i'm heading that way to yoga mom land.

any advice to excerise and sustain a shape after a certain point as oppose to actually gain muscle. do u get what i mean?
