Please help me choose my next bike!

Do you have any sources that the costs will be so radically higher? If it's true I'll have to consider that, but I've obviously made my budget to accomodate unforeseen expenses. As I said, I've already spent time on an anaemic bike and I often wished for it to be faster, I have heard the saying, but I don't agree with it - if I wanted slow acceleration I'd get a car. I'm not worried about breaking the law, I'm worried about getting caught, and the city where I'm moving for uni is crawling with cops, the exact opposite of where I am now.

I'm going to reiterate that I want a bike that can both do city riding and country roads, a jack of all trades and it doesn't matter if it's not actually a master of none, because I will still be gaining epxerience as a rider. Something that has punch to get going in the city, but can also be fun enough in the twisties.

I'm honestly not trying to be contrarian, but you're being quite rude with all the sarcasm and not offering much explaination for your arguments.
