Police of Reddit, what is the absolute worst crime scene you've come across?

I'm not a cop, I'm a Jehovah's Witness. I volunteer a few times a week to do door to door ministry in my area. Once I was out on the afternoon after Halloween. I knock on a door and hear someone faintly yell "help" from inside. My buddy and I yell back asking if everything is okay? This very old woman responded saying she fell and needs help. She told us where the spare key was hidden and asked us to come in the front door. We called 911 and when we got inside she just desperately wanted a drink of water. She fell 2 days earlier trying to grab something from a shelf and broke her hip. She had been lying there the whole day prior while trick-or-treaters took candy from the bucket next to her front door, and her pleas for help went unanswered because people must have thought it was part of her Halloween festivities.

I meet a lot of very lonely elderly people doing ministry work. Many of them i feel are not so much interested in religion but just want me to come by next week to have someone to talk to. I think they feel more dignified if their well being is being checked up on if it's not obvious. Because I'm really supposed to be there to drop of the new magazines or share an encouraging thought from the bible.

my regulars ask for help with the simplest things: Changing light bulbs Grabbing the newspaper that fell somewhere difficult to reach. Help bringing in the cat/dog food from the car. Closing a window that's been stuck open a few days. lighting the pilot on the hot water heater that's been out a few days.

It's hard to think good people commonly live entire lifetimes full of friends and loved ones, only to finish up their golden years alone and neglected.
