Never great, but never 103rd in the nation and worse than Hawaii. You're never going to BE fantastic when your offense scores that often unless you are also Alabama. Ohio State was 38th in the nation last year and still had a very solid D. But you give your opponents a lot more touches when you score like that.

USC flat out does not have the horses this year. They were going to have a bad D no matter what. Giving up 14 points late after going up by 4 scores is still a massive improvement. I mean my goodness... this terrible D only gave up 14 points when the game was actually on the line.
