Preach - Shadowlands delayed. Why now ?

The thing to note here is that this isn't an old-school Blizzard delay, and we should be careful to attribute this as one such. What I mean by that is, look at the TBC delay screenshot he shows in the video; it's an article from May 2012 saying that the expansion has been delayed from November 2012 to January 2013. The Blizzard of that time acted well ahead of the projected release date when they knew there was a problem, they didn't wait till the last minute. They also delayed it to another quarter of the financial year, which is not what's happening now. We're still getting SL this year, which means it stays in the same financial quarter. This isn't delaying it till it's fully ready, it's delaying within the constraints of "needing" to release it this quarter.

I'm glad it's delayed, don't get me wrong on that. But a delay of a few weeks isn't going to cut it, it needs way more time. The hole they're in is way too deep, and they put themselves in it. My worry is that the Blizzard devs know it needs way more time, but they cannot delay it till "when it's ready" as their old motto stated because of shareholder obligations. I hope they do as much as they can to dig themselves out, but I also hope they don't crunch.
