Yeah.. I was kind of worried I jumped the gun assuming that but the episode absolutely proved my point. They went out of their way to avoid 90% of what went on (which I would think people who watch the show actually care about) and gave us the whole dance of her family's feels and her life story. Basically, they nixed the gameplay and gave us an after school special about acceptance and all that because she had a rough few days that she absolutely brought on herself and exacerbated for herself.
Look, I fully respect her. This takes balls. (NO pun intended). She’s going to instantly be famous and along with being a poster child and helping people feel confident about who they are, it’s also going to bring a SHITLOAD of hate and nasty things her way. I respect her. But that’s got fuck all to do with what I said.
This is supposed to be a game. Much like with the whole Ariana Grande career promo/pimping Frankie's twitter account being the sole reason the season occurred last year, this kind of shit wrecks it. If they can play, play. If they can't, get the fuck out. No one cares about the sob stories, the struggles, the tragedies, who they are related to or what faith they are. I'm sure every person in that house has had some serious things happen in their life. Why don't we get the whole spiel on them every time they get butthurt after doing some stupid shit and getting called? When they get all angsty and cry in their bed, why don’t we get a segment from their family? Oh right, because we don't give a shit. "Name? Job? Where are you from? Give us 30 seconds on what makes you unique? Thank you. Now play the fucking game.". If anything giving certain players a special “treatment” takes away from any underlying cause as if they just want to be treated like anyone else, well, fucking treat them like anyone else and let the game roll on.
Meh, people can vote how they want, but I appreciate it, thanks. It’s not debatable as to why they go out of their way to give her the most positive light, but apparently it is questionable as to if anyone has the right to understand that’s why they do it and say so.
I guess I just want to see a game again. It’s been years since it was actually a game, but every year I hope it comes back. I couldn’t possibly care less about their life story. I’m good with everyone and respect everyone as people and having every right to be who they are, and be accepted as who they are. Let’s play a game and leave that shit outside.
