US President Barack Obama has signed into law an initiative aimed at bringing electricity to 50 million people in sub-Saharan Africa by 2020

I honestly don't blame Obama for our deficit. I was very (shortly) giving a gist of the numbers.

But by what you have said - why did our Government bail out the banks? The housing crash was not solely a Presidents fault - to whom you point blame is your choice but it's either the mortgage companies or the banks. I get why he had to bail the banks out but if we don't do anything about our deficit (and soon) all the money he fronted would have been for nothing; no matter what your political affiliation is - it will hit all of us hard.

As a Bernie supporter I understand why the President wanted to do this. I don't believe any one person or animal has to suffer but as a Republican, it is only making matters worse for us currently living in the US. And we can keep putting aside our debt and provide things to others and we can continue to spend money or bail out banks or what have you and act like there isn't this debt over our heads but for too long now we as a whole having been living in the moment. There is no savings. We don't have the funds to balance ourselves out anymore and why when someone jokes about how "China owns us," it shouldn't be taken lightly. We owe them the most and the last time a country held that over another countries head was in Egypt when the British wanted to take over the Suez Canal and US being an ally strongly disagreed. British continued and the US held their debt over there head basically saying if you don't pull out, we will make your money (pound) worthless.

(Again...any time someone wants to correct my history PLEASE do so. I'd rather you do that then call me an idiot and give up on a healthy conversation)
