There’s different types of cholesterol, but what I was getting at was that the demonisation of cholesterol entirely is just completely unfounded. Your body NEEDS cholesterol. The cholesterol found in eggs and salmon is very healthy and the demonisation of cholesterol is bad because people aren’t consuming enough of it if they avoid certain foods due to incorrectly believing they’re bad for you due to their cholesterol content, which causes alotta health issues.

Even ldl which is considered the bad cholesterol has in recent years been shown by some studies to improve life expectancy or have no correlation to heart disease whatsoever. It’s argued that most of the findings that suggest this don’t even consider where the cholesterol is coming from and don’t take into account other lifestyle factors like alcohol and smoking.

The point is Ancel keys, the guy who did the study in the 70s, purposely left out 2/3rds of the data to show a direct correlation between cholesterol, saturated fat and heart disease, whereas if he published all the data from all 21 countries, there would have been absolutely 0 correlation whatsoever.

Eating salmon and eggs isn’t going to contribute to heart disease, they are objectively very healthy foods that happen to be high in cholesterol
