You misunderstood the picture. It's not a 'banker' taking the value away from you, the small business owner on the left. It's you the business owner on the fucking right taking the value away from your workers on the left.

You're the 'parasite' here, the bankers aren't in the picture here (though they are surely parasites as well, and worse than small business owners to be sure, but not on principal).

If that sounds harsh and antagonistic, I do that to get through to you or others listening in. Despite your predicament to get by (which, believe me, I empathize with, despite my harsh tone), you can only do what you do by living off the work of your employees.

You may say 'but I treat my employees well' and I'm sure you think you do. But they have no say in your business, despite them doing all the work. You may say 'but I create jobs' and I'm sure you think you do. But in reality, the work has always been there, you just make sure the work can be commodified. You may say 'I don't mind paying for welfare' but that's just giving back breadcrumbs to the workers after they made your bread.

To be clear: I don't think you are evil as 'the big guys' and I think you think you are doing the right thing. But from a worker's perspective, you are definitely on the wrong side.

I would know, since I run a small business

So, no. You don't know. Now you do.
