It's the conversation that the Gay Community isn't having with itself. They don't see that everything that is happening isn't necessarily a loss for them. The other minority groups aren't doing so well. We as the most oppressed minority in history, are the only minority that are thriving at this moment in the United States and I imagine large portions of Europe. And the people on the right aren't automatically homophobes and bigots. The definition of a bigot is somebody who cannot tolerate the opinions of others. If you cannot tolerate the opinions of others, you are bigot to that person. Left or right. Now there is a grand opinion, in the heart of conservatism, of a live and let live philosophy. And if you argue with them on that point, you'll largely always win. People paint conservatives, republicans as these assholes and I will admit they have been. But these are also people that have their own way of life and have largely conceded previous opinions from public law cause of that point, live and let live. They might still have these opinions, they may even teach their kids these opinions. "A man cannot lie with another man, being gay is a sin; that's what I believe. " is what they'll say. But they can grasp and even accept the concept that it is still wrong to prevent you because of that core philosophy, live and let live. If you feel you have to attack gay people, or purge them from your life, you are a homophobe.

Let's talk about these people that didn't want to bake the cake for us. When we force them to to bake that cake for us, or sacrifice they property and/or freedom; What does that say about us? Yeah we get the cake, but now these people resent us even more. And it gets deeply seeded into their family. It doesn't make them better. It makes us worse. But then again it is also wrong to discriminate against, a perfectly good law abiding citizen. I don't know, maybe I'm asking too much. All I know is that for years we have begged these people to have an open mind about us. I think that they do, after being humiliated for the last eight years.

From what I see though, it's not the conservatives of the U.S. that has been hurting people.
