Question about regents + honors opportunities

i did the honors program but stopped after finishing my second year so don’t know what it’s like after that. i liked the small classes, mine were fairly easy because i took humanities type honors courses . but the main benefits of the smaller class would be that relationship you’re able to build with the professor, so you would probably want to use them for major related classes and those may be harder (they’re really not supposed to be harder than normal classes tho). i’ll also say that in your upper div courses you’ll find small class sizes & be able to build a relationship with professors as well & its more important to do so during the last two years than the first two anyway in my opinion. the priority registration is truly the most important part of the program. if you’re an overachiever & want mentorship to write a thesis in your last year, you can definitely work your way into a lab position & do that anyway without much more effort than the honors program version. but overall if you’re someone who needs an outside motivator to push you to do all the right career oriented ‘college things’, then its good to have because they will keep tabs on you & its easy to get lost in a school this big without that
