The most apt analogy I could think of would be a high school of some sort, so let's say you start the year, you're not the most well behaved student and after a couple of detentions you begin to clean your act up, you start working harder and become a lot more friendly towards your peers and the staff that work there, everything seems lovely and during the break you start talking with your new friends about going to prom, you're very excited about this, and you begin to see it as something good that you get for cleaning your act up and realising that your behaviour was once unacceptable.

HOWEVER, upon returning to school you find that the senior leadership have changed their mind about prom, prom is only going to be for those that have had consistent impeccable behaviour and unfortunately that isn't you. You had a detention 8 months ago, and as a result, regardless of whether there is an improvement or not, you're not allowed to go to prom whatsoever.

The moral of this story is that not only does this punish the trolls, which I get that it should, but it also punishes those that have learnt from their mistakes and have been perfectly fine for 99% of season 5. Forgive me if i'm mistaken but is that the attitude a developing game studio should adopt, in this kind of environment of competitive video games it's almost inevitable that emotions run high and sometimes it can lead to things being said out of anger and such, but does that mean that those people who have put their anger behind them and are grinding towards their silver/gold/plat/dia/challenger border are basically getting their behavioural change thrown back in their face with a note saying 'once a bad apple, always a bad apple?'

I find this approach less than favourable, especially given external factors, (See: (Disconnecting, server issues, uncontrollable ISP issues (Virgin Media disliking LoL for example) and other changes that are completely out of an individuals control.)
