near where i live is a guy who owns a company that sells fertilizer and pesticides and herbicides... also we have a hardware store that is struggling with a bigger competitor who also sells environmentally unfriendly chemicals... the guy and the small hardware store are going to side with the politician that makes sure those chemicals are not outlawed because their businesses and therefore their livilihoods and therefore their mortgages which guarantee homes for their children to live in when they go to school with their friends all depend on those chemical sales or so they think. ..so its not that they are necessarily bad its more that they want to make sure their families have a good environment and home.
