The real horror of the movie Come True is its “romance plot” that attempts to normalize stalking kidnapping and grooming vulnerable people

Yea idk I mean I have a career in working with kids/teens who’ve been put into state custody. So that perspective has me a bit more keen to stuff like this. Like, when you’ve had a runaway teen girl crying into your shoulder because she thinks it’s her fault she was raped because her rapist gave her food and a place to sleep “so she owed him her body”…. Idk I think my line of work has me pick up on this stuff a lot quicker.

It’s just like hey guys, maybe at least have the main character like 25 and maybe have her flirting with the guy before he kidnaps her? Or idk if she’s 18 why not have the guy be a freshman in college who’s part of the research team cuz he’s really smart/wrote a paper? That way his actions would be still not ok but they’d be much more forgivable.
