I too have wondered why turn signals are such a full blown nightmare for the human race to properly grasp and apply to their daily lives.

It's not that they can't grasp how or when to use them. They actively don't want to.

It's selfish and immature. Fuck everyone around me, I'm the only one that matters. Be kind to others by clearly communicating intent? Fuck you.

Others don't use them because they think if they do then someone is going to block them, because they're the ones to block others when they see them and thus they assume that everyone is the same. Because they're just assholes.

Lastly other people just don't care enough to do anything the right way. It's the same as people who throw their trash out of the car. They're lazy assholes who don't give a shit about anything.

People grasp turn signals just fine. They just don't use them on purpose.
