Why is Reddit (outside of Nintendo dedicated subs) so viciously anti-Nintendo?

People hate on Nintendo because they are small minded children who get upset when a company doesn't cater to their every whim.

I like Nintendo as a company. I respect that they try to be different. I respect that they don't kowtow to the demands of idiots on the internet who think Nintendo "owes" them something because they really liked Duck Hunt when they were three.

Why would you bother trying to compete with Sony / MS / PC on hardware specs? That market is pretty well sewn up. Nintendo competes in areas that it has a chance of winning in.

I laugh at all of the "Nintendo NEEDS to PROVE" x, y, z. They don't need to prove jack. They don't owe you anything. it doesn't matter if you liked Duck Hunt when you were three.

Microsoft is to the point of practically giving away Xbox consoles. The PS4 Pro has been out 2 months and there are already combo-deals all over the place.

Go out and try to find a deal on a 3DS, or even the Wii U. Hell - try to FIND a 3Ds. Try to find a deal on a game that Nintendo hasn't decided to deal on. 3 year old games are still selling at full MSRP or more.
