Redditors who gave an unfaithful spouse a second chance, what's your story and how did that turn out?

Dated a ridiculously good-looking guy freshman year of college (mistake #1). We were really happy together, the sex was amazing.

Summer time- I stayed with him over the summer because I couldn't go back home for various reasons, and I had yet to o find a job. (Mistake #2) I found out that he'd made a profile on plenty of fish and confronted him. He told me that it was so that he could talk to some friends he knew on there. My bullshit alarm went off the charts, but I chose to forgive him because we were living together (mistake #3).

Well, he ended up cheating many, many different times that summer and made me look like a complete fool in front of his friends (they all knew about the cheating but I had yet to find out). When I did find out, I confronted him again and he tearfully apologized. I forgave him again because I'm stupid, he was so freaking hot, and I thought we could work through it (Mistake #4).

We moved back into the dorms for sophomore year and I though everything was going well. He got a very good job as a phlebotomist at a plasma domain center and I was working as a server. He said he didn't want to break up. I loved him (mistake #5).

Found out he was sleeping with a girl from work, and everyone there knew about it. They also knew about me because he brought me around them a few times.

I finally ended it after he ditched me on New Year's to go fuck some girl several hours away and tried to lie about it. But at this point I was wise to his tricks.

Moral of the story is don't seriously date someone your freshman year of college. He just wasn't ready for a serious girlfriend (even though he asked me to date), college is prime for sleeping around, etc. We get along okay now because I understand where his head was at the time, and I was having a lot of personal issues at the time that I'm sure didn't help things. Still friends on Facebook, and he occasionally invites me to parties and raves. He is single, I'm engaged to a wonderful man, we're both happy now.
