Redditors who live or work in very wealthy communities: what's the most pretentious behavior you've witnessed?

I worked in the asscrack of america (Flint/Saginaw, MI) and now work in an extremely wealthy area. The entitlement is so real its fucking unbelievable. Ill make a quick rant about the stuff that bugs me with the wealthy area:

"I had to wait in that waiting room, IN PAIN, for 2 whole hours!"

...well I was just doing compressions on someones father who went into cardiac arrest, i'm sorry you were uncomfortable and felt the need to come to the ER because you have chronic gerd. People are extremely self centered and have no idea why I cant wait on them hand and foot and pat their heads... Care is prioritized and the sick/dying come first, if you dont see me for a bit, feel lucky, dont bitch about it.

Also, we are not a restaurant. If someone asks for food before I assess them, I dont like them. People can go weeks without food, they will be fine, even with an extended wait not eating. If you have known blood sugar issues and arent prepared, youre still not getting food, youre getting an iv and dextrose. I'm not going to have you aspirate when intubating you because you dont understand why we dont let you eat when you come to us with your emergency.

An emergency room is for emergencies, we are not supposed to be an extension of your home doctor, if you dont have a home doctor you need to get one. If you come to us, we rule out anything life threatening, then tell you to go to your home doctor... because we are supposed to take care of emergencies...

If you call 911 from our waiting room because we arent seeing you fast enough, its probably more likely that youre in no immediate danger, not that people with 30 years experience are bad at their job.

No, we dont have to give you pain meds, pain is not an emergency, its a byproduct of whatever is going on. Just because you dont get pain meds does not mean you didnt receive reasonable and prudent care. If you dont like our pain med policy, go somewhere else.

If you have an issue and are jumping between ERs because you dont like the answer someone gave you, you are the stress people complain about when talking about the medical system. We cant just get your files where you had tons of testing done, and no, we are not going to repeat it because its a waste of resource, you just need a home doctor.
