I removed a Lipoma from my Leg

What up? So I checked out elliptical excisions, are the the same as fusiform excision? or is that just the name for the excised portion? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh9C-tNPigg. Didnt look too bad, except for the one of the abscess. Now everything white is disgusting. In all of the videos I saw, they used deep buried sutures, which dont look hard, but I doubt I will be able to get a hold of dissolve-able suture line. Is there a technique for deep sutures, when dissolve-able sutures are not available? I was imagining like deep interrupted sutures, but that tied off above the skin, or a deep subcutaneous running stitch that only had one knot. Thoughts?

What is the name of the tool the Dr. uses in this video to cut the skin around the mole? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJuDspQvcrw

So the comic book set up is pretty out there. Its in a future after some kind of global biological/chemical weapon attack and the global population is greatly diminished, many oxygen producing species where eradicated, causing air problems. Greenhouse effect, lots of ice melts, water levels rise, lots of shoreline is flooded. They "fix" it by introducing fast replicating plankton with chloroplasts to proliferate in the ocean. This along with the effort to treat survivors of the biological attacks, usher in a surge in bio based tech, gene therapies good stuff, creepy stuff.

Most nations have cut ties with one another, very little intercontinental communication despite satellites still working, air travel is dangerous because lots of small countries build ground to air missiles. Asia is dark, no comm outside of set boarders, no outside digital communication. The internet exists, but not to the extent it was, the dark net sees a lot of local use. In the US the federal government failed to cope with the disasters, and the country is broken into competing corporate dominions who enforce local law, or ignore not cooperate citizens all together, some bad, others less bad. Some are allied, some are independant.

If you are familiar sci fi literature and film this is basically a world like Shadowrun, but with no magic, elves dwarves or trolls, and with heavy biotech, instead of heavy cyber tech. Think Blade Runner with creepy genetic modifications.

SO, the main character contracts some horrible syndrome from the after effects of these bio attacks and is in a coma for some time, then conscious, but in need of serious care for some time longer. When western medicine does not seem to be enough, he incorporates other therapies. Chakra study, tai chi, japanese ki beliefs, self hypnotism and what not. Eventually finding recovery he finds he has gained unprecedented, and unsafe levels of control over his body. He can trigger hormone release, enhanced cell regeneration, spead up the formation of myolin coating on specific neurons, increase bone density, grow new bones, change skin pigmant, change eye color, and so on. Pretty much given enough time and study he can bring about almost any mutation. But there are side effects. He still has some kind of brain tumor/abnormality that seems to spread when he uses these abilities, but spreads even more virulently if he doesnt dedicate "resources" to control it. It causes halicinatinos, random trauma to the body. The more "changes" he makes to his body, the more he has to consciously take over his autonomic functions. After major changes-like changing skin pigment and eye color to hide, while releasing adrenaline for combat and growing sharp bony protrusions for combat- he may not be able to breath unless he consciously makes effort to do so, or his heart may stop.

You get the idea.

So I have a million possible questions, ill start with the few I can think of: is there such a thing as osteoplasts that have to do with bone growth? I know that wolfs law or something talks about micro trauma to the bones causes the calcium structure to become more dense in the effected areas, causing them to become more dense over time. How similar is the "micro trauma leading to creation of new tissue in bones" to the way that micro trauma to the muscles in the form of exercise causes muscle fibers to thicken?

Ive read that about 1 in 4 women or something are tetrachromatic, in that their eyes have another set of rods and cones in the iris that perceive a different wavelength of light, allowing them to see "different colors" or at least colors in a different way. I know that in the animal kingdom different animals have different numbers of kinds of cones. I think a mantis shrimp has twelve. Im not sure what the question is there. Uh, how would that be visually represented? Drawing an acid trip? In this pseudoscience I am pulling out of my ass, does it make any sense to perceive more of the infrared spectrum? Stuff normally only visible under blacklights? Night vision, cat pupils? Im sure they would all work in a comic book, but im looking for help on how to make it more convincing, with better medical grounding. I also thought about nictating membranes, that extra eyelid that camels, cat and sharks have. Haveing would wired into an autonomic reflex could render flash grenades and bright lights ineffective, or offer some extra protection from flying debris

Last one for now. I know that hearing is partially casued by the stapes? bone vibration on the eardrum. Like a hammer and anvil, or drum and drumstick, as well as something with the silia hairs? My thought is what about a muscle inside the ear canal, that could close the oriface, either to prevent intrusion, or dampen sound. The other thought was if there was a membrain developed that could intrude between the stapes and ear drum, or freeze the stapes in place, so that the brain could not perceive sound. Causing total deafness, but also rendering immunity from most sonic attacks, or forms of equilibrium disruption.

I know that is a lot, and you are very busy, but i'd appreciate corrections in my terminology or total departure from any facts, as well as information regarding medical anomalies, mutations yielding positive effects, or cool possibilities that occur to you. Thanks for reading, hope its interesting.
