The only team that I could even entertain the idea of a free pass to league play is the defending champ, and I don't believe that should be done either.

It's ridiculous that people are so upset about this. You play well, you make it. You play bad, you don't. It's really that simple. There are no free passes and their shouldn't be. No other sport (that I know of) allows anyone a free pass. The Super Bowl champs don't automatically make it to playoffs, World Series, none of them. The fact that you get 2 chances in RLCS is more than enough.

Iris has never competed in RLCS until this year, they haven't proven anything. Sure they did well in other tournaments but that's not RLCS. Everyone is so salty that the #1 seed went out which had a ripple effect on other teams. Well, that's the way it goes. And for the record, I'm a fan of the guys on Iris.

I will be salty next season if RLCS does give teams a pass.

tl;dr You win, you're in. You lose (twice), you're out. Iris lost, end of discussion.
