Road Rage.. WCGW?

I used to own a flashy little red BMW coupe, and once had a guy at a red light in a shitty little Acura gun his engine like he wanted to race.

This used to happen all the time, and I was usually content to pretend I was going to race these idiots, then drive like a normal human being while they tear off. I had the pleasure of watching several people get pulled over shortly after pulling this move, so it was a source of great joy for me.

Well, this time, I wasn't even going to fake him out, because we were both about 2-3 cars back from the light. It made no sense to race, or even to fake it, so I ignored him. When the light turned green, I accelerated at a very normal rate, leaving a fair gap between myself and the car ahead of me.

Well, this idiot thought it would be fun to gun it anyways, and then cut me off. He misjudged the length of his car and clipped the front end of my car with his rear end, unintentionally pulling the PIT maneuver on himself in the middle of the intersection. He spun out of control, narrowly missed a traffic light post, flew across a concrete median and two oncoming lanes, and then spun all the way back across all four lanes to end up on the right side of the road with his front tire bent sideways.

I pulled over, get out of the car, and go to check on him and make sure he's alright. He gets out of his car, sits on the curb, and says "I only had one beer!" as if that will excuse him for putting me and every other driver on the road at risk.

So I did the right thing and called the police, reported the accident and advised that he'd told me he had been drinking before the accident. The officer showed up and verified his story (the moron admitted it to the officer). It was written up as 100% fault for the other driver, and he got hauled away for a DWI (both of these things happened because despite his low BAC, he had caused an accident with alcohol in his system).

I had his name from the insurance, so I made sure to check the court records a few months later and found out he'd be spending about a year in jail after a plea deal.

People are really stupid.
