Running in Public

Lol ok

Hey buddy, no skin off if my back if you end up mocked, bullied and socially isolated in the future because of your choice to publicly stim. Just remember, we live in a social world. If you can't connect with others socially, you're going to end up not going far, but hey, some aspies are comfortable with that.

It was no coincidence that person chose to shout "Run, Forrest, Run!" at you. You may think it was just an isolated incident. Hell, you may think he was just playfully teasing you, but no, there's a reason he associated you with a mentally slow character from a popular movie. He's mocking you for your behavior by calling you "Forrest", i.e. a retard.

We aspies are great at focusing on small details, but because of that strenght, we tend to miss the bigger picture. When you're running, you most likely enter into a state of bliss since it is a form of stimming for you. In that state of bliss, you're obviously unaware of how others are looking at you weird. Most people are too polite to point out how awkward you look running down the street, but that kid's comment illustrates how most see you when they see you running in public.
