TIL that the Queen of England once "terrorised" Saudi Arabia's King by driving him around. In Saudi Arabia women are not allowed to drive.

Seriously, drivers licence or not, at this age you shouldn't operate vehicles anymore.

That's a bit of a blanket statement.

I'd hate for their to be an age limit on driving.

You would be taking a lot away for many seniors who don't have much of a social life to begin with, and are still able to drive short distances without an issue.

My grandfather is 90 and he drives fine around town.

He takes my grandmother out grocery shopping in town. He drives a short distance on the highway to take her to the mall. No accidents or problems. I've been in the car recently while he drove and he's fine.

Now would I want him taking a 5 hour drive on a highway somewhere? No. He would probably be fine, (he did just that only 2 years ago) but I still wouldn't want him doing it.

He probably wouldn't fair too well in a big city. As well as he drives in our small city I'm sure he would get very nervous driving somewhere like NYC and might definitely get in an accident.

I would not want him to lose his license while he still has the ability to drive though just because of his age. It's arbitrary.
