Samsung CHG70 - Is G-Sync Necessary?

Did some further investigating, here is a review taken from Amazon for anyone else who is interested:

Intro I had a slightly smaller nice monitor that was a few years outdated and my buddy told me to get a 144hz monitor for shooters, but that a lot of things just look better on them including movies (which you get mixed reviews for). Knowing a bit about Samsungs new tech and how it shows blacks (and being tired of not seeing well in dark areas. I decided to try this monitor out. I'm glad I did.

Pros -I cap my games at about 100 fps and it's always there. -From the time I plugged it in it was set to 144hz, and it's a notable difference especially in motion areas like targeting in gaming, but everything is notably smoother, and easier to click when moving. -This is a large monitor, it will give you a lot of real estate to play with and make it easier to see things at the edge of the screen as well as far away because they're bigger and it can show more. -The arm is quite adjustable up down left right, as well as pivoting in all 4 directions. -The curve is much more immersive when you sit straight away from it, I will likely always go with a curved monitor going forward.

Cons -The cords are very short, if you're going farther than straight down from the monitor you'll need another cord -I wouldn't want a larger screen, this might be too much real estate for some people. I like it as is. -No peripheral vision. Samsung has a $1500 model that is quite comparable to this but with peripheral vision in games. Having played with 3 monitors I can tell you that is a large advantage. You don't need to mouse look left and right, you just glance that way. You can see people who don't see you, turn and mow them down. You can see people gunning for you, you wouldn't normally see and deal with them. That said the 900 dollar difference for me wasn't warranted as I don't get to game as much as I used to. That monitor is slightly shorter than this model, FYI so pick which one you want.

-Summary This monitor has everything I wanted tech wise, it's also as big as I would go without increasing width. The only real downside is it doesn't have it's much more expensive competitors width of vision.
