Sanders: Boeing, GE, Verizon would pay more taxes if I win

In a capitalist system that void would theoretically get filled by new, more consumer friendly companies who are willing to make $1.00 profit instead of $1.22 work for them. However many US industries have artificial barriers of entry (most notoriously telecoms) that prevent this aspect of a true free market from functioning.

People say these tax hikes will be passed to the consumer and they're probably right. But they ignore the much bigger problem, that we're getting fucked on pricing even when tax's / outsourced labor make their costs extremely low. We pay the highest prices for internet in the developed world for the slowest speeds, as an example. They shouldn't be able to get away with that because either new startups or established competition should start taking them to task and attempt to steal that market share. But we have systems in place to keep that from adequately occurring, at least in the multi million / billion dollar industries. Shit, our internet service providers actively try to NOT compete with eachother and give full control of certain areas to one another. Sure they'll run ads saying their the best, but they won't fuck with eachothers regions because that would result in price decreases.

Look at where Google chrome is. Suddenly Comcast can charge significantly less.

All these companies have wiggle room in their profits because they're fucking us already. If paying tax suddenly makes them leave I say don't let the door hit their ass on the way out. Someone will step up to make all that money. Like how a free market is SUPPOSED to work. But they'll never leave, they'll just raise prices here because they are protected from real competition.
