SBC is going under

As a former SBC member and Seminary student, I think you overestimate how many people in the SBC even give a fuck.

And as a (former) secretary at a good-sized SBC church for 20 years, I've gotta say you are absolutely correct.

In those 20 years, I had ONE person ask to be removed from our membership rolls because he was fed up with the workings of the national Convention. Just one. And when the church offered to pay for free subscriptions to the SBC's monthly magazine, less than 30 families out of an active congregation of 350+ signed up for it. Most deacons weren't even interested. The same few volunteers ended up doing everything because 80% of the congregation just couldn't be bothered. The pastors themselves didn't even attend the local SBC association meetings, much less the state or national conventions. As long as they're first in line at the Sunday buffet, most members really don't care about the Convention at any level.

They believe that any problems they have are caused by the outside world, not internal corruption ... They will blame literally anything but themselves.

Again, spot on.
