I think God really gets a bad rap. When someone tries to debate Christianity with a Christian, sometimes they themselves don't know how to defend their own faith. You'll hear them stutter a, "Well I just believe" line and this secures a victory for the opposition. Well my friends, this is not me. While it is a beautiful thing to believe on God by his name alone, this is not "good enough" for an opposing hard-headed Atheist (or anyone else of an alternative faith) who may then potentially insult both your religion and your intelligence for your unfounded belief in the Lord. I myself am a Christian and I've witnessed this from time to time. One of my brother's friends is an Atheist who once declared that my brother only believed in God because he was "scared". This upset my brother and I because we both know this not to be true. I personally believe in God because in all honesty, it makes sense to believe in Him. For my brothers and sisters of the faith out there, don't you ever let somebody shut you down for your belief in God or Jesus. You know if you read into it there is documentation outside of the Bible of Jesus' existence as well as mention of the crucifixion that had been recorded by multiple sources. And to some of you Atheists out there, how can you shun the existence of a God you know almost nothing about? When was the last time you actually opened a Bible on your own time to try and figure this whole Christian thing out for yourself? Christian's believe in the Lord because when they look around at all the natural beauty that surrounds their world, the amazing and complicated cycle of life, and all the other unexplained marvels that make up the universe, they just CAN'T sit there and think, "welp, this is it man!". It just doesn't add up. "If God is real, then why doesn't he send us a sign?" HE SENT US HIS Son and WE KILLED HIM. When I look at the world, I have to wonder, "you're telling me that a chaotic explosion created all this?" Yeah right my friend. I just don't buy it. Here is how I describe the big bang theory: It's like saying Leonardo Davinci took a bucket of mixed paints, tossed them at a canvas and BAM! The Mona Lisa was created. To me it makes just as much sense. The canvas represents the emptiness that was the universe before BANG! The bucket of paint (or chaos) was thrust into the void, thus creating an intricate, highly detailed and CONSTRUCTED image that is the vast and complex universe that makes up our existence. Anyone you told the Leonardo story to would say, "what are you, nuts or just stupid?" So why does the big bang make any MORE sense to people?
