Senate adjourns until Monday after Democrats block McConnell's bid to add $250 billion in small business aid

This bill is additional funding to the PPP part of the CARES Act.

The $350 million PPP program is currently being scrutinized as a handout to hedge fund businesses and medium-sized companies that don't really need the money, but qualify anyway and will qualify to have those loans 100% forgiven due to how their operations are set up. Currently, Republican voters are blaming Democrats for helping pass the CARES Act with these loose provisions for oversight on these PPP loans and shoveling tax payer money to businesses that don't need it. The program ran out of money rather quickly.

The bill in this article is to meant to flow another $250 million in funding straight to the PPP program with no changes in qualifications or anything. It doesn't help small businesses who don't have an existing relationship with a bank or stellar incomes, as those are intended to qualify for the SBA Disaster Relief Program. The Democrats proposed amendments to have this money split between the PPP and SBA Disaster Relief Program, but Republicans struck it down.
