[Serious] Girls who have been guilted into going out with a "nice guy", how did it go?

Shit when I read stuff like this I question my behavior most recent (and first relationship) too. She was very independent, I liked her a lot, and I got kind of emotionally clingy (never told her or acted it though). I tried to stay away from the whole text her everyday thing so it was more me constantly doubting the state of the relationship, which led to some emotional problems and a lot of over-analyzing. To be honest, the situation is unbelievably complicated though.

Basically, we were friends for a while, she found out I liked her, made her uncomfortable so she broke off contact for a bit, started talking to me again, clarified that she just wanted to be friends, then she admitted she had feelings for me, then she re-friend zoned me, then she said admitted her feelings again for me, and then she ended it with “I just don’t think it’s going to work”. This is all over the course of about 1-1.5 years. I always liked her, but didn’t have the balls to tell her until she told me (I’m kinda awkward). She really was the first girl I genuinely got to know (had to get to know her in secret though because my dad has a dumbass policy about dating non-Christians).
