Although I'm sure this will get buried.... I'm going to post anyway because I don't have a whole lot else to do right now.

I just moved to a new state to pursue business based on a machine i built in a pretty new and very rich industry. Pretty great right? Wrong, and ill explain why.

I designed this machine over a year ago, but haven't had the funding to build it, so I've been working my ass off with two jobs and a part time to get said funding. About 3 months ago I had finally made enough money to build the machine. During the time I was making the machine I found a business partner(old friend) in a different state who was on board with the business and really wanted to be a part of it, he just needed a few months to finish his semester of school so he would have enough time to focus on the business. We will call this business partner Abraham.

So i waited the two months, all the while improving the machine, getting precise parts machined, and buying up the rest of the already made parts to start building it. Here is where the shit hits the fan... After the first month my business partner basically becomes non existent; phone meetings not attended, text messages returned with "call you later today" which became, "i'm busy this weekend call you monday", etc. etc. I expressed my concerns and heard no response from Abraham. So i built the machine alone, and started the next step.

Naturally, I'm feeling pressed for time since its a very popular industry, I start rushing to figure out my other options. I did research to find the best option, found that the gap in the market was still there in the new state, and moved so that i could continue to pursue my business.

Unfortunately it turns out a machine that serves the same purpose as mine was just released the same week i ended up getting to this new state, and now the gap that was once there is pretty much filled. I did some more research and found that the many individuals who bought this machine are locked into a contract for the machine, so the chance of competing for the market is basically zero.

I forgot to add that literally the day that i got here from driving for half a day, i put in about 15 resume's at different places within the industry i wanted to put my machine in, as well as various other places rent is expensive here so until i started making money from my machine i needed income. I talked to about 5 of the "big guys" that i needed to know and none of them were hiring minus one individual, we will call him g wash. G wash gave me a test to learn WordPress, and to talk to him in 7 days at 10:00 and he would see what i have learned and give me a fair shot at a great employment opportunity. Awesome! So i spent almost 16 hours a day learning WordPress and building an entire demonstration site to hopefully really impress G wash, and secure the employment. Pretty great right?

Or not.... because when i sent a follow up e-mail after 5 days to let him know i was going to be there as scheduled, he informed me that

"the job position has been filled, and we currently have no other openings. But check back soon, because we have "insert low paying job here" that we are usually always hiring for!" or in other words, fuck you bro, we hired someone else. So now I have no employment, no money, a machine that is now basically useless, In a new state with no one I know, and shortly no where to live.

Now finally It gets even worse... Since I had been feeling down I decided to make something special for my girlfriend whom I had left back in my other state since she couldn't transfer up here right away and she needs to finish school. I made her a nice steel bracelet that I acid etched a heart into, and put a lot of time and effort into it. On my way home from getting groceries I got robbed and he took my wallet, and the bracelet I made for her.

TLDR: Spent over a year developing, getting funding, and building a machine, business partner makes me wait 2 months due to school, business partner leaves, i move to a state where i know literally no one after researching market to make sure the gap for my machine is still in the market, learned WordPress for 16 hours a day for a week to get a job- then position was filled, I get to the state and find out my machine has just popped up basically the day after i get there, cant compete due to other machine inventors contracts with people who need machine, made bracelet for my S/O Back home, got robbed after getting groceries.

I've never felt so down and defeated in my life.

At least I still have my computer i guess. :/
