The time I escaped a DUI, first by crashing into a barrier on a freeway, then I jumped the wall before the cops showed up at the scene, then hid underneath a semi-truck trailer parked behind a school for hours as they drove through the area looking for me.

I eventually slept in other various places around the school trying to figure out where I was, waited about 12 hours to call 911 from a payphone and got admitted to a hospital because I was covered in scratches from climbing over bushes and sleeping in them to get out of the locked up school gates, I wanted to get the cuts treated and I was barefoot.

They gave me a bus pass and I walked for miles in hospital sandals to get to my car in the tow lot where it was impounded (needed my wallet, phone, and ID), cops confiscated my drivers license and military ID and my phone was basically dead.

Walked miles back to the bus stop to get back to the road that led to my base, arrived at the off-base superstore (think military Wal-Mart) connected it to a charger and called a friend so they could get me back on base since I didn't have ID.

Eventually had the car towed onto the base and claimed I was hit and run from the side (it looked like it was), the insurance company covered the entire accident, I got out of a bad car loan and avoided a DUI.

I didn't feel bad because I was legitimately hit (not DUI related) by a really old guy a couple years earlier and lost a ton on money on a nearly new car that was totalled.
