[Serious] What gut feeling you had about someone that turned out to be true?

My ex-boyfriends neighbour. They weren't friends per se, but my ex used to buy him sigarettes and for him, because be barely left the aparment. He was a strange fellow, very sullen looking, satt in the couch smoking with a few candles on the table, most of the floor was littered with beer bottles. And that's all he seemed to do, smoke on the couch, drink beer, and light candles, because he didnt' want to turn on the electric lights.

The first thing he said when we met after straring at me for a while was "I don't really like blondes", then he asked me if I was 14, and when I said no he said "Oh.. Well if you were I would've jumped you" or something to that regard, then ignored me completely most of the time. He said creepy things, but it was mostly his mannerisms and overall energy that made me really uneasy.

Fast forward, a few years ago. Sure enough. He burned down the apartment complex (packed his stuff, set fire to his appartment and walked out in the middle of the night). His reasoning? He was broke and no one would give him sigarettes. Luckily no one got hurt. And the building wasn't that large, there lived maybe a dozen people there. But reading the news, I wasn't surprised in the slightest.
