[Serious] When's the last time you were truly afraid, like a child in a dark room?

Last summer I was lost at 2 AM at the other side of The Netherlands looking for my friends. Mind you my phone battery had died. I told them beforehand that they didn't have to bother picking me up from the station since I would bring my skateboard and thought I knew the route. Yep, what a rookie mistake that was... The first intersection I got to was already a tough decision. I asked two friendly locals if they knew where the hospital was as I could find my friends from there on. They told me a route via several coffee shops. Keep in mind that this was happening in the Netherlands! I thanked them and rolled away on my board all alone in the night again. I got pretty excited when I found the first coffee shop. Thanks to some bad train luck I was already three hours later than I had told my friends and I had no way to contact them. Unfortunately, I never found the second coffee shop. I continued rolling over the main road in a straight line. Occasionally I saw something that I recognised so that gave me some hope. But all hope got lost when the road led to a dark forest with no houses to be seen. I still decided to go through the forest. Out of nowhere there comes from the opposite direction with an amazing velocity and when it's right besides me it stops immediately. I see the two men stare at me. I knew this couldn't be a good sign! How could I out run them with my suitcase and skateboard? Not. So I just casually roll further in my direction. A green glow appeared and the car drove away. It turned out the car stopped for a traffic light! I ended up in another town, turned 180 degrees and went back to the first coffee shop. I got offered some rides towards my destination from a nearby partie which I refused. They did a quick google for me to see where I needed to go. I thanked them and later found my friends looking for me on a bridge. Thanks for looking!
