In the several voting locations I’ve observed over the last month, one thing has been consistent: absurd wait times at college campuses. At what point do we start making noise about systematic voter suppression of young and minority voters?

I hear people complain all the time about young people not voting, but it’s hard not to see why young people get discouraged with crap like this. The system is totally stacked against young people. Want to vote on campus? You gotta deal with this shit. Want to take time from work to vote? Good luck not getting fired. We can create tech savvy and easy ways for people to choose the next winner of a TV singing competition or talent show with accurate results in hours, but God forbid we get a modern, easy and competent system to choose the leader of our country.

And other than Bernie, who else has a platform that actually helps young people? Young people aren’t naive. They know the Republicans and Democrats are all part of the same team, and the system is only there to help keep them in power. Even when there’s a legitimate movement like Bernie’s, the mainstream media, corporations, and two party system will crush it. We’ll get whatever corporate shill of a candidate the two party system shoves in our face. Young people just get left behind...just another stat for some establishment politician’s polling data. Biden is just another example of some old un-relatable white dude what will keep the status quo, and keep the older generations happy. And then when we don’t vote for him it’s more of the same guilt trip BS about how we’re contributing to keeping whatever current clown in power. I really don’t see how we’ll ever get real change until we change the system first.

Anyway, I’m off my soapbox now.
