Significant Weight Difference

I’m going to expose myself here, but I have to say something. She might not have been lying outright, she’s most likely more been lying to herself. Sometimes when you lie to yourself, you really believe the lie, cause the truth it too hard to face. I had a photo up on a dating app that was a few years old. I figured, I look exactly the same so why put up a new one? I went out with a girlfriend last week, asked her to take some photos of me for the dating app. When I saw the difference (about 20 lbs), I was shocked. I knew I went from a medium to large, but I didn’t realize I went from slim to mid-sized, and that makes a big difference. I’m not as fit nor as small as I was in that old photo, but I’d really convinced myself I was! I was buying clothes like I was still slim me, and boy was it a reality check to see what I look like (in photos) in all my new outfits. Not what I originally thought, but hey, at least I thought better than worse about myself, if there’s a silver lining here. Instead of changing the photo, I’m deleting the app. If I can’t see what I really look like, it’s time to look deeper. I’m clearly not ready to date if I’m lying to myself. So, try to be a little understanding towards women (or men) who lie about their weight or height, cause they’re firstly & mostly lying to themselves. I don’t think people who do this are really out to deceive you, not all anyway.
